John Dialogue Thumbnails
If you've never seen either versions of the film or haven't read the book, we find out quite early in the work that John is pretty much responsible for the plight of the other characters that ensues throughout the movie, so there's a really large range of emotions for him; from cheerful optimism to confusion to frustration to the obvious final visceral feelings of fear and fright. On the subject of fear and fright, the catalyst for the film is that he's studying fear response in humans and therefore wants to take a selected group of people away to this secluded house and record reactions of the group from set-up events made to frighten them. In one of the first scenes in the recent version of the film, John's superior has ethical problems with him scarring people without their consent and John defends his need for his group to be unaware of his true purpose/intent. Here are some thumbnails of a line of dialogue he then delivers to justify his needs.

yay the return of mr. romo!!!
i think your salome project is interesting, but what audience is it catered to?
your evertales is cute but creepy. i am captivated.
Good question about 'Salome' - it's heavy and moody and kinda twisted. So, in that, I would admittedly be shooting myself in the foot. Here's the reason for wanting to do it: Even though these new films coming out may be entertaining to some extent, no one is taking chances with animation anymore. It's all 3D or it's all anime (you know this to be true) - the stories are so similar and style is out the window(seriously). Doing 'Salome', to me, would be going in the absolute opposite direction in an effort, to even, shock people into the idea that we can tell more than farting ogre schlock. I have friend in Carolina who is working on 'Beowulf'. How cool would it be to see that animated?!? There's just so much good material out there waiting to come to life and I'm tired of not seeing any of it get done. I mean, we have two 'Shrek' movies - do we need 'Hoodwinked'?!? I guess as long as people stand in line for it we do, but it'd be nice to see people wanting something else once in a while and it'd be great to be able to offer it to them. Guess it's a two fold wish, huh? So, I guess the audience would be ... people that like to order something new on the menu every once in a while and defintely the few that want to get back to good cooking instead of fast-food. Know what I mean?
Glad you liked my first installment of 'Evertales'. Once you see the second 'Evertale', you'll all get the title more clearly. I think it's a pretty cool concept.
